Big Week

Last Monday night I picked up mycousinamanda and Maia from the airport.  There, I held Maia for the first time.  It's been a while since I held a baby.  In fact, I can't remember the last time I held a baby was.  Impressions.  Babies are hot.  Babies slobber.  Babies wiggle.  Babies grab at everything from hair to necklines with their doughy little fists and pull.  Babies look at you and raise their eyebrows as if to say, "who the heck are you?"  I loved every minute.

Evidence:
When Friday rolled around we picked up my bro from the airport.  We had a restful night in because we had to get up early Saturday to run the Love to Eat and Run 5K.  The course was super challenging-- lots and lots of hills, but we finished.  The weather was perfect! I didn't walk, but my time was a bit slower than I wanted.  Oh well, there's always the next race.  We would like to fit one in every month to keep working on staying fit.
Look at those dancer's legs!

We didn't puke, pass out or die!

Will placed 2nd in his age group and was disappointed. Check out his medal.
Next we headed home to  get ready for Joe's graduation.  I've mentioned that Joe didn't want to walk, but I sorta forced him to.  He didn't even send out announcements, so don't be upset if you didn't know.  The ceremony was quick and relatively painless (except for the hooding of 77 Chinese executive MBAs and the preceding keynote address), and we were in and out in about an hour and fifteen minutes.
After graduation my mom, dad, Will and Joe all headed to Dallas to our favorite wine bar, Veritas.  There we met up with mycousinamanda and ourfriendkim.

Sophisticated gentlemen.

My lovely mother even cheated a little on her vegan diet and indulged in cheese.

So did my dad.
Then we went to Urbano, the fabulous little cafe around the corner and enjoyed some wonderful cuisine and wine.
Together again!
Sunday we all went to the Rangers game.  Yay!
So that's about it. I don't think we could have crammed anything else in this weekend.  It's nice to be busy. :)  Plus, I got to spend it with great people.
